Grace Kelly (Nov. 12, 1929 – Sept. 14, 1982) was an American actress who married Rainier III Prince of Monaco 19 April 1956.
The Palace of Monaco was painted and redecorated in preparation for the royal wedding. On April 4, 1956, departing from Pier 84 in New York Harbor, Grace Kelly, with her family, bridesmaids, poodle and over eighty pieces of luggage boarded the ocean liner SS Constitution for the French Riviera.
